Pakistan registered a comfortable win over Sri Lanka in the final of the T20I Tri-Series played today (29th November) at the Rawalpindi International Cricket Stadium, crowning themselves champions of the series.
After winning the toss, Pakistan opted to bowl first and immediately applied pressure on the Sri Lankan top order. Sri Lanka lost opener Pathum Nissanka for just 11 runs in the third over, but the visitors recovered strongly through a brilliant half-century stand between Kamil Mishara and Kusal Mendis, taking them to a promising 84/1 at the end of 10.2 overs.

However, the innings took a dramatic turn as Sri Lanka suffered a shocking collapse, losing nine wickets for just 30 runs. What looked like a platform for a competitive total quickly vanished as the middle and lower order failed to withstand Pakistan’s disciplined bowling attack.
Sri Lanka were eventually bowled out for just 114 runs in 19.1 overs. Kamil Mishara was the standout performer with a fine knock of 59 off 47 deliveries, including two fours and four sixes, continuing his good form in the series. Shaheen Afridi and Mohammad Nawaz were the stars with the ball for Pakistan, each claiming three wickets and playing key roles in triggering the collapse.

Pakistan’s chase of 115 was steady and controlled from the outset. Babar Azam and Saim Ayub anchored the innings with composed knocks of 37 and 36, ensuring there were no early setbacks. Although Sri Lanka picked up a few wickets along the way — including two surprising breakthroughs from Pavan Rathnayake, who rarely bowls and has just one first-class wicket to his name — Pakistan remained comfortably ahead of the required rate.
The hosts reached the target in 18.4 overs with six wickets in hand, sealing a convincing victory and lifting the Tri-Series title in front of their home crowd.
