SLRFU has named the national pool of 32 from the concluded under 20 club rugby 7s last weekend. Out of these 32 players 18 will be selected before the departure in order to tour Malaysia on 15th & 16th and Hong Kong on 22nd & 23rd of August. The junior Tuskers will compete in the Asian U:20 7’s series under the guidance of Collin Denish and Rajiv Perera.
Sudam Sooriarachi the Isipathana scrum half has been ruled out along with Ramesh Fernando of Agoal due to injuries. Also Tariq Salih the Josephian captain opted out due to the Advance Level examination. However, there is plenty of depth in talent in this pool which has impressed the national selectors like Buddima Piyarathna D.S. Senanayake full back Udara Jayapala (Kandurata).
Peterite Shamri Burah who has all the skills was outstanding for HARFA during the last weeks encounter was named in the squad along with Prince Chamara who played for Army SC last season. Last year’s Science College captain Prasad Malinda is another fine player in the pool.
