The Sri Lanka U 17 development team instilled a lot of hope in the country’s young when they whipped their English counterparts by an innings and inside 3 days.

Sri Lanka scored a match winning 399/9 in reply to England’s 190 in the first innings and 128 all out in the second innings.

In an all round bowling effort the Sri Lankan lads bamboozled England to cut short their second innings fight to 128 in 80 overs.

Tilina Nimesh led the attack with 3 for  28  and Ravin Sayer added to his first innings tally of 7/71 with 2 for 27. Lasith Lakshan chipped in with 2 for 28, while Asitha Madushanka and Chamika Karunaratne a piece each.

Except for a last minute dash  from H Hossein 40 ( lbw  T. Nimesh ) and J Odell (caught S. Arachchige  bowled   R. Sayer) 23 England had no resistance to offer in the second innings.

Sri Lanka’s Ravin Sayer broke the English batting in the first innings with his spin and Sri Lanka effected a robust and heartening batting performance on English soil
