The National Cricket Selection Committee has announced a 16-member Sri Lanka T20I squad for the upcoming three-match series against England.

The squad sees a few notable changes from Sri Lanka’s previous T20I assignment against Pakistan, with Kamindu Mendis, Dushan Hemantha, Traveen Mathew and Nuwan Thushara omitted from the latest selection.

The biggest inclusion is 23-year-old Pavan Rathnayake, who has been rewarded for his outstanding performance in the recently concluded ODI series. Rathnayake grabbed headlines after scoring his maiden ODI century against England in the third ODI, earning him a call-up to the T20I squad.

Meanwhile, fast bowler Pramod Madushan has also been recalled, adding extra pace options to the Sri Lankan attack ahead of the series.
