Chalini Neesha will captain Sri Lanka at the 13th Asian Youth Netball Championship 2025 to be held in Jeonju, South Korea.
Neesha, former captain of multiple championship winning Holy Family Convent – Kurunegala school, will be ably assisted by vice-captain Anuththara Kaluarachchi, former Head Prefect of Visakha Vidyalaya.

The squad also comprises Nethanga Gunaratne, Bhashi Udagedara and Minagee Kankanige who were also part of the team which finished in 3rd place when the tournament was held last in 2023. Nethanga was a former player of Musaeus College while Minagee is the current captain of Musaeus along with Thirandi Kariyawasam.
Maliyadeva Girls’ College, Kurunegala has the most representation including – Bhashi Udagedara, Sarani Wathsala and Tumalka Ekanayake. The rising star in the squad is Mihidhum Keerthisiri (Sujatha Vidyalaya, Nugegoda), who is just 15-years old.

The rest of the squad includes Shannon De Silva, Chithera Samarakoon (HNB) and Manoda Ranasinghe (Seylan Bank).
Sri Lanka last won the Asian Youth Netball Championship back in 2015 and has since then underwhelmed. However, with the experienced Head Coach Hyacinth Wijesinghe guiding the team, the young lionesses will look to turn their fortunes around.
