TPBC2016 – A Recap

D.S. Senanayake College participated in the tournament in Group A. Unfortunately, they had to bid farewell in the group stage after losing their respective group stage matches. De La Salle College Asian International School and Maristella College went on to beat them in the 1st round.

The Team in a Nutshell

Even though the Dons have lost a couple of players from the previous edition, they are still confident in their team chemistry, having played the last season together. Although they are a young side, a few of the senior players have played U19 for 2-3 years and do possess some valuable experience.

What’s unique about the D. S. Senanayake College side is that it is well balanced not only on their offense and defense but has an equal amount of left handers and right handers who are able to penetrate the defense from either side. The D. S. Senanayake team is confident about their rebounding abilities and believe that that’s where they will have an advantage against other teams.

It’s a whole new training schedule for the boys from D.S with a new coach and completely new training style. They practice 5 days a week, focusing mainly on their weak points both individually and as a team. The boys believe that the expertise their new coach brings to the table will get them through this tournament.
