Sri Lanka Cricket Chief Selector Pramodya Wickramasinghe in a recent TV interview mentioned that the ‘A’ team and Development teams will be the feeder system for the Sri Lanka national team thus each player in the senior team will have shadow players in the back-up teams, prepped and raring to go if the need arises.

With Covid-19 pandemic cancelling all the plans of ‘A’ team cricket and Development cricket for over 15 months, SLC have finally looked beyond the national setup to keep the second and third string teams ready for the future.
