Farveez Maharoof recognized by Sri Lanka Unites

Former Sri Lankan all-rounder Farveez Maharoof has been bestowed the Outstanding Young Sri Lankan award by the Sri Lanka Unites youth movement.  

Maharoof was honored as one of the recipients of the Outstanding Young Sri Lankans award this year for his contribution to national unity and a thriving society.

Presenting the award, Sri Lanka Unites commended Maharoof’s efforts to bring youth from all communities together and help them see a collective united vision for Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka Unites, a youth movement for hope, reconciliation, and youth leadership development, organized this award ceremony to celebrate the 14th anniversary of the movement, serving all 25 districts of the island.

The celebration took place at BMICH, Jasmine Hall on the 11th of December and was graced by H.E Sarah Hulton, British High Commissioner to Sri Lanka and H.E Trine Jøranli Eskedal, Norwegian Ambassador to Sri Lanka, who were the guests of honour.
