Zimbabwe registered a comfortable win over Sri Lanka in the second match of the T20I Tri-Series played today (20th November) at the Rawalpindi International Cricket Stadium.

Sri Lanka skipper Dasun Shanaka won the toss and elected to bowl first, hoping to make early inroads. However, Zimbabwe posted a competitive total of 162/8 in their 20 overs, thanks to crucial contributions from the top and middle order.

Brian Bennett anchored the innings with a steady 49 off 42 balls, striking 5 fours and a six. Skipper Sikandar Raza provided further momentum with a valuable 47 off 32 deliveries, including 3 fours and 2 sixes, ensuring Zimbabwe finished with a strong total.

For Sri Lanka, Wanindu Hasaranga was once again the standout performer with the ball, finishing with figures of 3 for 32. Youngster Eshan Malinga impressed on his T20I debut, delivering a disciplined spell to claim 2 for 27, showcasing promising signs for the future.

In response, Sri Lanka faltered badly with the bat, producing a disappointing batting display as they were bowled out for just 95 runs. Shanaka attempted to fight back with a brisk 34 off 25 balls, hitting 2 fours and 2 sixes, but lacked support from the rest of the batting lineup.

Zimbabwe’s Brad Evans delivered a match-winning spell, finishing with exceptional figures of 3 for 9 in 4 overs, dismantling Sri Lanka’s chase and guiding his side to a convincing victory.
