The second day of the 51st Senior Nationals Basketball Championship came to an end as four women`s matches of the Level II ended in Kandy.

With the senior nationals basketball championship commencing on the 3rd of February to 18th February we give you a chance to select your favorite team…

The first match for the day was played between Jaffna District BA v Kandy District BA. Even though Kandy did step into the game after an overnight victory against Polonaruwa District BA in their first game, it was not an easy task to match up against the northern province heavyweights. Jaffna District BA won the closely contested affair by seven points as the full time score read 63-50. A.Tharsi of Jaffna District BA top scored in the game with fifteen points.

The second match for the day was played between Sri Lanka Universities SA v Matara District BA. Both the teams played their first game of the championship. Sri Lanka Universities SA cruised through to the victory as the final scorecard read 49-15. U.A.Preamunagama of Sri Lanka Universities BA top scored in the game with eleven points.

Jaffna District BA played their second game against Polonaruwa District BA which was third game for the day overall. Polonaruwa District lost their first match to Kandy District BA on day one. Jaffna District BA continued their winning streak as they recorded a comfortable victory when the scorecard read 45-27 at full time. A. Tharsi top scored in the game for the second consecutive time scoring fourteen points.

Sri Lanka Universities SA played the second match for the day against Rathanapura BA which was recorded as the final game for the day. Even though Rathnapura District BA did win their first match against Matara BA on day one, they had to walk in despair as the final scoreboard read 34-20 in favor of Sri Lanka Universities SA. Achini Arachchige top scored in the game with fifteen points for Sri Lanka Universities SA.
