The South – West Monsoon regatta that is to be held on the 13th June 2015, is the second regatta after the kick-start of the opening regatta, to challenge the young oarsmen and oarswomen to showcase their talents in the Beira waters.
The target of this event is to focus more on the school children to promote rowing among their level. It is greatly expected to see a lot of flair from the school category.
There are races in sculls, double sculls, pairs, and fours for the intermediate female category. The male category consists of one junior pair’s event to encourage junior participation and an open category for centenary oars and other intermediate races are similar to the female category. The number of events in the female category has been increased in comparison to the past year due to the higher participation from the ladies schools.
The teams of Museaus College, Bishops College and Royal College are some of the giants that have confirmed their participation for the regatta and the schedule for the day is given below.
