South Africans level the series crushing Sri Lanka Emerging by 7 wickets

South Africa Emerging team leveled the three-match series, 1-1 beating Sri Lanka Emerging by 7 wickets in the second unofficial ODI played at Rangiri Dambulla Stadium on Saturday. 

Two days ago, Sri Lanka Emerging won the first game by 2 wickets. Skipper Angelo Perera won the toss and elected to bat first. The hosts’ were cleaned up for only 89 runs in 20 overs. 

Right-handed Sadeera Samarawickrama was the top contributor with a knock of 25 while Chathuranga De Silva made 20 runs. Right-arm seamer Tshepo Moreki and left-arm spinner George Linde shared 8 wickets amongst them. 

The visitors chased down the solitary target of 90 in 18.5 overs. Opener Aiden Markram and David White made 42* and 30 runs respectively while adding 67 for the first wicket. Right-arm seamer Kasun Rajitha took all 3 wickets. 

The third and final unofficial ODI will be played on 24th August at the same venue. 

SL Emerging – 89 all out in 20 overs: Sadeera Samarawickrama 25, Chathuranga De Silva 20, Danushka Gunathilake 14, Tshepo Moreki 5/19, George Linde 3/22.

SA Emerging – 92/3 in 18.5 overs: Aiden Markram 42*, David White 30, Kasun Rajitha 3/32.
