Ten matches of the SLC Major Clubs U23 Tournament commenced today (23rd February) at several venues across the island.

Dulaj Ashen put up a lone fight for BRC with a brilliant century against Moors SC on day one of their two-day encounter that commenced today at BRC Grounds in Colombo.
Having won the toss, BRC managed to post 247 for their first innings thanks to Ashen’s well-compiled century. He stroked 126 runs off 123 balls with 9 fours and 9 sixes. In reply, Moors SC were 117/2 at stumps on day one.

Sakuna Liyanage’s magnificent century has put Ace Capital CC in a commanding position on day one against Galle Cricket Club. The skipper Liyanage notched up unbeaten 159 runs off 207 balls with 17 fours and a six.
The left-arm spinner Dellon Peiris dismantled Kandy Customs batting line-up taking 6 wickets for 62 runs. In reply, Ragama CC showed a much better batting display, posting 167/3 at the close of play on day one. Ragama CC chief scorer Yohan Liyanage remained unbeaten on 71 runs.
