Five more matches of the SLC Major Clubs 50 Overs Tournament 2025 worked off today (9th July) at Colombo, Kurunegala and Maggona.
Police Sports Club extended their impressive run with a fourth consecutive victory, overpowering Badureliya Sports Club in their Group A match in Maggona.

Bowling Badureliya out for 89, the cops chased the target in just 14 overs with six wickets in hand, led by Naveen Fernando’s 3/31 and Chathuranga Jayathilake’s 42.
Colts Cricket Club registered their third consecutive win of the tournament, defeating Nugegoda Sports & Welfare Club in their Group B encounter worked off today at Colts Grounds.
Batting first, Colts CC posted a solid total – 275/9 on the board courtesy of half-centuries from Sangeeth Cooray and Kavishka Anjula. In reply, Nugegoda S & WC made only 191 runs despite Kevin Perera’s fighting half-century.

Meanwhile, Chilaw Marians Cricket Club, Moors Sports Club and Bloomfield Cricket & Athletic Club emerged victorious in the other three encounters worked off today.
