Six matches in the third week of the SLC Major Club 3-Day League 2025/26 concluded today (21st December), with Police Sports Club emerging as the only side to secure an outright victory, while the remaining encounters ended in draws.

Police SC registered a commanding innings victory over Chilaw Marians Cricket Club in their Group A fixture, which concluded at the Colts Grounds in Colombo.

Leading from the front, Police SC skipper Ashen Bandara stole the limelight with a memorable batting performance, scoring his maiden double century in first-class cricket. Bandara struck a fluent 200 runs off 235 deliveries, laced with 16 fours and five sixes, laying the foundation for his team’s dominance.

With the ball, Nalin Priyadarshana delivered a match-winning spell for Police SC, finishing with impressive figures of 6 wickets for 37 runs, as Chilaw Marians were bundled out to seal the innings win.

Meanwhile, the other five matches concluded in draws but not without several standout individual performances. Tillakaratne Sampath of Nugegoda Sports & Welfare Club, Oshada Fernando representing Panadura Sports Club, Lakshan Edirisinghe of Kurunegala Youth Cricket Club, and Ravindu Fernando from Bloomfield Cricket and Athletic Club all starred with the bat, each registering centuries for their respective teams.

Bowling honours in the drawn encounters were shared among several performers. Jeffrey Vandersay stood out for Bloomfield C & AC, claiming a fine six-wicket haul, while Chamikara Edirisinghe (Kurunegala YCC), Anuk Fernando (Nugegoda S & WC), and Irushka Thimira (Chilaw Marians CC) impressed with five-wicket hauls.
