SLC calls off World Cup preparation camps

Sri Lanka Cricket has cancelled the three day team bonding session in Maduru Oya Special Forces camp in Habarana and the subsequent five day residential training camp at Dambulla aftermath of the Easter Sunday suicide attacks that killed more than 350 people.

Sri Lanka’s cricketers were scheduled to begin the three day session at the army camp on Tuesday but that was put off alongside the training sessions at Dambulla.

The national cricket team will leave for the United Kingdom on the 7th May. They have three weeks to acclimatize to the conditions before their first game of the tournament on the 1st June against New Zealand in Cardiff.
