Skipper Ramindu Kumarasinghe slams a ton

Thurstan College took on Moratuwa Vidyalaya today in an inter school cricket encounter. 

Thurstan winning the toss took first lease of the wicket and put on 277 impressive runs with their skipper Ramindu Kumarasinghe slamming 102 runs. 

The Thurstan College captain in his innings scored 15 boundaries in 135 balls to give his team the advantage at the end of day one. Opening batsman Minhad Jaleel gave them a good start with 72 runs which included 10 fours and 3 sixes. Kavindu Kulasekera and Charana Nanayakkara were also amongst the runs chipping in with 30 and 38 respectively. 

Shanaka Perera took four wickets for Moratuwa Vidyalaya while Nipun Randika and Sachin Fernando claimed 2 wickets each. 

Moratuwa Vidyalaya were on 92 runs for the loss of 2 wickets at the end of the first days play with Ishan Peiris unbeaten on 42*.
