Shadab ruled out of England limited overs series due to illness

Pakistan legspinner Shadab Khan will miss the limited overs series against England after scans revealed that he was suffering from a virus, the Pakistan Cricket Board confirmed on Sunday (April 21). Yasir Shah has been named his replacement.

Shadab is expected to take rest for four weeks in order to recover from the virus ahead of the upcoming World Cup, starting on May 30. PCB is also set to arrange appointments with specialists to examine his case and help the bowling all-rounder to make a complete recovery.

Pakistan leaves Amir out of World Cup squad

Yasir has taken 23 wickets in 24 ODIs. On his last tour to England in 2016, he finished with 19 wickets in four Tests. Yasir, who was part of the 23 probables, will travel with the side to England on April 23.

Pakistan’s England tour, consisting a one-off T20I and five ODIs, will commence from May 5.
