The 4 quarter-finals of the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) Major T20 Tournament were worked off today(4) at the CCC grounds in Colombo and Chilaw Marians CC grounds in Katunayake.

NCC vs Colts 

NCC batting first recovered after an initial set back to reach 165/6 in their allotted 20 overs. Their recovery was initiated by Chathuranga De Silva who made a valuable 46* not out, while Farveez Maharoof and skipper Angelo Perera chipped in with 39 and 34 respectively.

Colts were the team to beat in the tournament after being unbeaten during the group stage, but a brilliant bowling effort led by Sri Lanka’s veteran quick Lasith Malinga who picked up 3/14 secured a thrilling 6 run win for NCC. Chathuranga De Silva also capped off a good game when he picked up three wickets with his left arm spin.

Army vs Moors 

Moors managed to restrict Army SC to 129 all-out but an inspired bowling effort by Army skipper Seekuge Prasanna secured a comfortable 34 run victory.

Seekuge captured 3/19 in a game changing passage during the middle overs while fast bowling all-rounder Janith Silva was impressive for Army SC with 27 runs with the bat and astonishing figures of 3/03 with the ball.

Ragama vs Tamil Union

An explosive opening stand of 113 in 10.2 overs by Dinuk Wickramanayake and Ramith Rambukwella led Tamil Union to an emphatic 9 wicket victory over Ragama CC. While Wickramanayake fell for 61, Rambukwella went on to remain unbeaten on 68*.

CCC vs Badureliya 

Lahiru Madushanka’s 4 wicket haul restricted Badureliya SC to 107/9 in their 20 overs, while Lahiru Gamage also chipped in with two wickets for CCC.

CCC reached their target in just 12.3 overs with the discarded Dilshan Munaweera smashing a flamboyant 70* not out. Ashan Priyanjan made 34 as CCC booked their place in the semi-finals.
