The under 19 division 1 encounter between Ananda College and S. Thomas’ College, Mount Lavinia ended in a tame draw at Ananda Mawatha with the hosts registering a first-innings win.
Resuming from their overnight score of 31 for 3 in 13 overs, the visitors battled hard to chase down the massive first innings score of 303 posted by the Anandians. Three half-centuries by Romesh Nallapperuma, Sachitha Jayathilake and Nipuna Gamage stretched the Thomian innings. Romesh was the top contributor with 54 while vice-captain Sachitha and left-hander Nipuna scored 55 and 52 respectively. For the hosts, Nipun Chamika and Ashen Danushika captured 3 wickets apiece.

Gurukula College vs Moratu Maha Vidyalaya
Underdogs, Gurukula College, Kelaniya clinched a superb 7-wicket win over Moratu Maha Vidyalaya in a low-scoring under 19 division 1 encounter concluded at Moratuwa on Tuesday.
After losing the game on first innings, Gurukula College came back strongly in the 2nd innings to outclass the hosts. Tharindu Tharaka was the best bowler for the Kelaniya lads as he picked up a 9-wicket match bag while Damith Hasith was the chief destroyer in the 2nd innings with a five-wicket haul.
