After the LPL Season 3 draft ended last week, the fans have been waiting to find out about the coaching staff of the franchises.
The newly renamed Kandy franchise became the first franchise to announce a big signing as their mentor as the former Sri Lankan Captain and 1996 World Cup winner Sanath Jayasuriya will be joining them.
Jayasuriya, who revolutionized batting in the 90s is someone with a huge cult following in Sri Lanka and other countries like India and Pakistan. He was also a part of the biggest t20 franchise tournament in the world, the Indian Premier League and still holds the record for the fastest century by a Mumbai Indians batter. His wealth of experience will be a huge plus point for the Kandy Falcons moving forward and the likes of Wanindu Hasaranga, Chamika Karunaratne, Matheesha Pathirana and the rest of the squad will have a lot to learn from the Sri Lankan legend.

After being announced as the Mentor of Kandy Falcons Sanath Jayasuriya made the following statement.

The 3rd season of the Lanka Premier League is scheduled to begin on the 31st of July.
