S. Thomas’ 205 Nalanda 63/3

Nalanda College lost three quick wickets in response to S. Thomas’ first innings total of 205 in their U-19 inter-school cricket match which began at Mt. Lavinia today.

 

Hosts , batting first could not take the home advantage as they lost wickets at regular intervals with Pramud Hettuwatte making inroads at crucial moments to put Thomians under pressure. Yohan Mendis, Madushan Ravichandrakumar got off to a good start but could not make it big as they both fell for 41 while Nipuna Gamage contributed with 33. Hettiwatte  claimed five for 54 runs while Malinga Amarasinghe and Anuththara Madhawa took two wickets each to put hosts under the hammer in the 70th over of their innings.

In response Nalanda lost three wickets before the stumps on day one for 63 runs and would look to erase the deficit today.  Chenutha Wickramasinghe was the pick of the bowler for the Thomians claiming  two for 20 runs where Woshantha Silva made a top score of 30.
