While the whole world is grappling with the issues of COVID-19, the Sri Lankan Rugby players were seen engaged in making their contribution towards adopting a more sustainable lifestyle by partaking in the Home Garden Challenge.

The Home Garden Challenge is an initiative launched to promote a more sustainable and self-sufficient future where people are not defined by the circumstances beyond their control. Hence, while all of us are quarantined at home, the Rugby players have taken up the challenge of exploiting the benefits of gardening at home, as nature gradually restructures itself without any human interruption.

One of the benefits of endorsing home gardening at this hour when people are confined to their homes is that people can somewhat be prepared to face a food crisis that may possibly arise in the months to come!

Former National Skippers, Present CH & FC player Sudharshana Muthuthanthri wrote on his Facebook “When we plant trees, we plant the seeds of peace and seeds of hope. Thank you @namal_rajapaksa for taking the initiative to encourage sustainability and to start the home garden challenge. I have a lot of time so why not take up the #homegardenchallenge” Sudharshana was one of the first among the Sri Lankan Rugby players to take part in the challenge. He later nominated his former team mates Faazil Marija, Dhanushka Ranjan to be part of this wonderful initiative.

We at ThePapare.com would like to invite all fans of Sri Lanka Rugby to be part of this project.
