Richmond College vs Mahinda College

The biggest rivalry down south was unfolded yet again at Mahinda College grounds yesterday and it was a nail biter. Home side won the toss and elected to bat first. They posted 187 runs in their lot of 50 overs and in reply Richmond struggled but got over the line in the very last over with two wickets in hand. Taveesha Abishek of Richmond scored an unbeaten 92 runs to guide his team over the line.

Trinity College vs St Mary’s College, Kegalle

Trinity College got the better of St Mary’s College in a rain affected match at Asgiriya Stadium. Trinity batting first scored 264 runs in their 50 overs and in reply St Mary’s were looking good at 84 for 1 in 21 overs when the rain poured down. Trinity College was deemed victorious by 73 runs according to the Parabola Method.

Richmond put up a brilliant all round performance to earn their second victory this week. After being put to bat first they posted 248 runs all out in 41 overs. Their bowlers rattled through the opponents and earned Richmond College a massive 166 run victory.
