Two of Sri Lanka’s top junior golfers, Reshan Algama and Adhithya Weerasinghe, are set to represent the country at the All-India Junior Boys Golf Championship 2024, organized by the Indian Golf Union. The tournament will be held in Bangalore, India, from December 2 to 6.
This prestigious event, renowned for showcasing the region’s most promising young golfers, has a legacy of launching successful professional careers across Asia. It offers invaluable international exposure and is a key milestone in junior golf.

Reshan Algama, a left-handed golfer from Colombo International School (CIS), is among Sri Lanka’s most talented young players. With extensive international experience, he has represented Sri Lanka in tournaments across Bangladesh, India, the Philippines, Malaysia, the USA, and Thailand. His recent participation in the Asia Pacific Amateur Championship in Japan further highlights his capabilities on the global stage.

Adhithya Weerasinghe, a 16-year-old rising star from Anuradhapura Central, now studying at Ananda College, marks a historic milestone by becoming the first junior golfer from his school to represent Sri Lanka. His standout performances include a gross score of 68 at Royal Colombo Golf Club and victories in the Silver Division at the Prima Golf and Srixon Junior Open in 2023. Ranked among the top five amateurs in Sri Lanka, Adhithya’s achievements also include competing in the Salangor International Junior Golf Championship in Malaysia and securing an overall win at the Victoria Golf Resort in June 2024.

Adhithya’s journey from a regional talent to an international representative reflects the success of the HSBC Future Lions program, developed in partnership with the Sri Lanka Golf Union’s Junior Sub-Committee.
