Sikandar Raza has been added to the Zimbabwe squads for the Tests and one-day internationals against Bangladesh in October.

Raza had been initially excluded from the squad over contractual issues, and will play no part in the limited-overs tour of South Africa, which will begin with the first ODI on Sunday, 30 September.

However, after talks with Zimbabwe Cricket’s contracts committee, the situation has been resolved, the board said in a statement on Tuesday, 25 September.

“I am extremely delighted with the news and thanks to ZC who quickly sorted out my issues,” Raza said. “I just want to put this behind me and concentrate on and enjoy my cricket.”

Givemore Makoni, the ZC acting Managing Director, said they were “pleased” to have “one of our best players” back.

“We are pleased to have found common ground with Sikandar, who is one of our best players,” said Makoni. “We welcome him back to the national team set-up and we hope he will contribute immensely in Bangladesh and in future tours.”

Zimbabwe will play three ODIs and as many Twenty20 Internationals in South Africa from Sunday. They will then travel to Bangladesh for a series comprising two Tests and three ODIs, starting with the first ODI on 21 October.
