Sri Lanka fast bowler Matheesha Pathirana has received his No-Objection Certificate (NOC) from Sri Lanka Cricket and is set to join the Kolkata Knight Riders squad for the ongoing Indian Premier League season.
The 23-year-old pacer will be available for selection as early as KKR’s next fixture against Chennai Super Kings, scheduled to be played in Chennai on 14th April.

Pathirana’s return comes as a major boost for Kolkata, who will be eager to strengthen their pace attack as the tournament gathers momentum.
The young speedster had missed the early stages of the competition after suffering a calf injury during the T20 World Cup, which took place prior to the start of the IPL. Since then, he has remained sidelined and out of competitive action.
