Pasindu Liyanaarachchi appointed Head Coach of Maldives

Renowned Cricket Coach Pasindu Liyanaarachchi has been appointed as the Head Coach of Maldives National Men’s Cricket Team.

Liyanaarachchi is a qualified ICC Level 3 Cricket Coach who has a vast experience in coaching various teams in domestic and schools circuit in Sri Lanka.

He has worked as junior head coach of Mahanama College, Colombo and St. Joseph’s College, College, and held the senior head coach roles with Thurstan College and Isipathana College in Schools arena.

He has also worked as head coach of Lankan Cricket Club, Colombo Malay Cricket Club, DFCC Bank and Nations Trust Bank in domestic circuit.

Liyanaarachchi has signed a one-year contract to work as Head Coach of Maldives National Men’s Cricket Team. He will be the only Sri Lankan representation in Maldives Coaching setup as all other members will be coaches from Maldives.

In addition to the Head Coach role at National Men’s Team, he has been assigned to coach Maldives U19 Team as well. Guiding Maldives National Men’s Team in 2023 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier during September-October will be one of his main tasks in his new coaching stint.
