NSBM and KDU recorded comfortable wins in their respective quarter finals to book their places in the semi finals of the ongoing Red Bull Campus Cricket Tournament 2015 which was worked off at the Thurstan College grounds today(2).

NSBM made light work of a hapless ACBT side who managed just 78 runs after winning the toss and batting first. Right arm fast bowler Madushan Subendran(3/15) and Left arm orthodox bowler Dushan Perera(2/08) shared five wickets between them for NSBM while former Josephian skipper and left handed batsman Vidusha Jayasinghe made a top score of 22 for ACBT. In reply, NSBM reached their target in the fifteenth over of their innings for the loss of just three wickets with Rasith Jayarathne making an unbeaten 32 runs. Dushan Perera made a useful contribution of 20 runs to go along with his two wickets.

In the second game of the day, KDU made a competitive 151/5 in their allotted twenty overs after being sent in by SLIIT. Ashan Perera made a well composed half century(53*) while getting good support from Viduranga Kahandagoda(30) and Harshan Vidyarathne(23).   Heshan Rodrigo and HM Ranasinghe picked up two wickets each for SLIIT. The boys from SLIIT were never in the hunt in their chase as they were able to muster only 106/9 handing a 45 run win to the KDU and a place in the semi final. The only notable contribution from the bat came from Tharindu Gamlath who made 28 while Saranga Dharmapriya was the most successful bowler for KDU with 2/23.
