New Zealand tour of Sri Lanka: Fixtures released!

2231

Sri Lanka will commence their Test Championship campaign against New Zealand next month as they host the Black Caps for two Tests and three T20Is in August and September.

There were concerns surrounding the tour due to the Easter Sunday Attacks in Sri Lanka which killed nearly 300 citizens but New Zealand Cricket (NZC) has given the go ahead after a security team thoroughly monitored the situation in the country, and with other security measures taken by Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC).

Sri Lanka’s perfect win… Almost!

Nothing is perfect in life they say. In Cricket, high-scoring thrillers are a treat to watch. So, Sri Lanka’s nail-biting….

The Kiwis will arrive in the island on the 3rd of August and will play a three-day warm-up game in Katunayake before moving to Galle for the first Test. The P. Sara Oval in Colombo will host a Test match after two years as the second and the last game will be played in Sri Lanka’s inaugural Test venue.

The Marians Cricket Grounds in Katunayake has been given the opportunity to host the only warm-up T20 clash as well. The first two T20Is will be played at Kettarama in Colombo before the teams move to Kandy to play the third and final T20I as the tour comes to an end on 6th September.

New Zealand are currently number two in Test rankings and number six in T20I rankings, while Sri Lanka sit on the sixth and eighth spots in Tests and T20Is respectively.
