Rathnavali Balika Gampaha clinch 2nd Battle of the Queens

Gampaha Rathnavali Balika Vidyalaya managed to win the 2nd Battle of the Queens by beating Anula Vidyalaya Nugegoda by 29 runs. This amazing encounter took place at the R. Premadasa International Stadium on 11th May.

Anula Captain Harshitha Madhavi won the toss and decided to field first on the R.Premadasa wicket. In 44.5 overs, Rathnavali only managed to get to 135 for the loss of their 10 wickets.

Amadhi Kavindya was the top scorer with 25 runs while captain Pabasara Ranabahu chipped in with 22 runs..

Janadi Anali took 4 wickets by only giving 16 runs away and Ashmini Kalindi picked 2 wickets for 25 runs.

Anula Vidyalaya openers came on to give a good start for their side but Rathnavali bowlers didn’t give them much of a chance.

After the fall of the 1st wicket, Captain Harshitha Madhavi took the responsibility to stabilize the inning. She went after the bowling immediately which saw her getting into 22 in no time.

Rathnavali skipper then decided to bring Nethmi Ariyarathne to the bowling  crease and she didn’t disappoint her captain. She immediately removed Harshitha for 22 runs.

After the fall of their captain, Anula Vidyalaya never got going in their innings which saw them all out for 106 in 43.3 overs. Star Bowler Nethmi Ariyarathne took 4 wickets for 33 runs.
