Dulith steers S. Thomas’ to semis

S. Thomas’ College won the Singer U19 cricket limited overs quarter-final against Gurukula College ….

The Cambrians won the toss and opted to bat first on a dry surface in Moratuwa. The lads from Moratuwa posted a commanding 282 in their 50 overs before rain interrupted the Nalanda reply.

Vice-captain Avindu Peiris and Sanoj Darshika stroked classy half-tons for the Cambrians, while Chamindu Wijesinghe and Suhanga Wijewardana claimed 3 wickets each with their seam bowling for the lads from Nalanda. However, the umpires decided to flip the coin as heavy rain stopped play after 2 pm in the afternoon. Prince of Wales skipper Savindu Peiris flips the coin as Lakshitha Rasanjana calls it wrong to end the Nalanda journey in the 2017/18 season in a heartbreaking way.
