MCA Premier knockout Semi-Finals postponed due to bad weather

Seven teams including, debutants Maliban Biscuits and Sri Lanka Cricket, making a comeback are participating in the ongoing 31st Singer MCA Super Premier League 2024.  

A tournament is conducted in three (03) stages namely the League, the Knock-out and the T20.

Tournament Format: 

 

The league stage consisting 21 matches which commenced on 04th October and was concluded on 22nd November 2024. At the completion of the League round robin, Maliban Biscuits team that emerged on top of the points Table was declared as the league winner. 

 

The Knock out, conducted on a new format, consisting three (03) matches will be played with the four (04) top team in the league points table 

The Semifinals are as follows;  

  • Maliban Biscuits (L1) vs. Hayleys Group (L4)  
  • Fairfirst Insurance (L2) vs. CDB Finance (L3) 

The above Semi Finals which were scheduled to be played on 25th & 27th November have been postponed until 05th December due to prevailing weather conditions in the country. 

The T20 with only six (06) teams (Sri Lanka Cricket XI will not be participating), consisting nine (09) matches including the final will be conducted with the six (06) teams pooled into two groups, playing on a Leage format: the first two teams of each group will advanced to the semi finals: the schedule dates are 02nd, 03rd and 04th December (League matches) 06th December (Semi Finals) and 08th December final.

The sponsorship handing over ceremony and the media conference was held on 26th November at the MCA Legends Wing, at 6:30 pm.
