Amana Bank eased past Sampath Bank in a 4-0 victory to clinch the Mercantile Knockout B Division Championship at the City Football Complex.

Sampath Bank kicked off the first half but it was Amana Bank who immediately drew first blood when they got a free-kick in the first minute, this was struck well into the box and the Sampath Bank defense wavered, leaving skipper Mohamed Sajid to volley the ball into the goal.
Sampath Bank’s first chance at goal was also through a free-kick which was struck high, but Amana goalkeeper Usama Sideek, having the height advantage was able to tip the ball over the crossbar. Sampath Bank’s effort from the following corner produced a shot on goal, but Sideek pulled off the save.
Amana Bank had very strong, vocal support from the stands as their supporters made sure their voices were heard throughout the match.
Amana soon after got another clear chance at goal with their forward taking a powerful shot from inside the box, but keeper J. Amiddu pulled off a stunning save to keep the deficit to just 1 goal.
Sampath Bank came so close to equalizing when an effort from a corner was struck towards the box and the ball came off the underside of the crossbar before being cleared. Few Sampath Bank players claimed it was over the line but the referee had none of it.
Amana played some great passing build up play and soon got another chance when they broke into the opposition box where Ahamed Farshad passed it off to skipper Sajid whose curling shot was well off target.
Amana Bank almost doubled their lead just before half time when the ball was crossed low into the box but the forward failed to get a connection leaving it to roll safely into the hands of the goalkeeper.

Similar to the first half, within the first minute of the half Amana scored. This time Mohamed Infas struck the ball brilliantly from distance, but with the keeper off his line the ball took one bounce before finding the back of the net.

Sampath Bank almost pulled one back when Prabath, after his first attempt was blocked, attempted another which went wide of the post.
Amana Bank got yet another chance, as Sajid doubled his tally with a beautiful deft finish to fool the goalkeeper and get the third. They soon added a fourth when Ahamed Farshad got the ball inside the box and beat the keeper with his shot.
