Experienced Nilakshika Silva scored an unbeaten 189, leading Sri Lanka Army to a mammoth 318-run victory over Tamil Union in the Major Clubs Women’s Invitational Tournament at P. Sara Stadium on October 31.

After opting to bat first, Sri Lanka Army set an imposing total of 375 for 6 in their 50 overs. Silva’s remarkable knock came off just 110 balls and included 17 fours and 6 sixes. Nethmi Poorna (67) and Udayangani De Silva (43) also provided strong support.

In a stunning bowling display, Tamil Union was bowled out for mere 57 runs, with Nimesh Madushani taking 4 wickets for 7 runs. Sandani De Silva and Achini Kulasuriya contributed by taking 2 wickets each.

In another match, Sri Lanka Navy triumphed over Kurunegala Youth by 235 runs after scoring 295 for 7, with Harshitha Samarawickrama top-scoring with 78. Kurunegala Youth could only muster 60 runs in response.

Additionally, Colts, Chilaw Marians, and Sri Lanka Air Force each claimed victories over SSC, NCC, and CCC, respectively. The previous day (30th) saw Panadura and Ace Capital winning against Badureliya and BRC in a couple of low-scoring matches.
