LB Finance vs Hayleys

Winning the toss and bowling, Hayleys made the worst possible start and were made to rue their decision as LB Finance got to an enormous total of 301 in 50 overs. Shasheen Fernando was the main stay at the crease scoring 88 as he steered the LB Finance innings.

Hettiarachchi was the pick of the bowlers for Hayleys group as he bagged 3 for 57 in his allotted 10 overs. Fellow bowling team mates were taken to the cleaners as LB Finance was in control of the game.

Hayleys did not make any progress with the bat either,  as the LB Finance bowlers ran through the Hayleys batting without breaking a sweat bundling them out for just 124 in 35.2 overs. Weerakoon managed 3 for 14 in 7 overs as fellow pacemen Shiran Fernando picked 2 for 13 in 6 overs.

Mobitel vs JKH ‘B’

Being put in to bat first, Mobitel was bowled out for 208 runs in 44.3 overs. Geshan Wimaladarma gave Mobitel a blistering start with 52, while Lahiru Jayakody managed 57 but none of the other batsmen managed any considerable score as regular wickets dismissed Mobitel within 50 overs.

Samith Fernando was the shining light with the ball picking 3 for 29 as Sasindu Perera (2/21) and paceman Akthab Cader (2/33) managed four wickets between them to dismantle the Mobitel  batting for cheap.

JKH ‘B’ did not find the chase easy even though opener Salinda Ushan scored a magnificent 42. No significant score by the middle order batting meant that Mobitel had a shout in the game, only for Samith Fernando to turn up shining brightly, this time with the bat as his 72 from 58 which helped JKH ‘B’ edge home with just 2 wickets to spare.

Mobitel – 208 all out in 44.3 overs. (Geshan Wimaladarma 52, Lahiru Jayakody 57, Samith Fernando 3/29, Sasindu Perera 2/21, Akthab Cader 2/33)
