Sri Lankan top order batter Kusal Mendis has been appointed as the captain of Galle Gladiators franchise team for upcoming Lanka Premier League 2022.
A premier batter for the Gladiators, Mendis was the top scorer of 2nd edition of Lanka Premier League (327 runs in 10 matches).
Runner’s up of the 1st two editions of the LPL, the Gladiators will begin the 3rd season with the tournament opener on August 1st against two-time defending champions Jaffna Kings.
The 3rd edition of the Lanka Premier League, Sri Lanka’s top-most domestic T20 Tournament, will be held from 1st August to 21st August 2022. The games of the much-awaited competition will be played at the RPICS, Colombo, and the MRICS, Hambantota.
