Kusal Janith Perera regains form with an unbeaten 78

Soon as he was dropped from the Sri Lanka ODI team, Kusal Janith Perera returned to form with a quick-fire unbeaten 78 for Colts CC during a Premier Limited Overs Tournament 2014/15 encounter worked out on 13th December. 

Colts vs SL Ports

Left-arm spinner Sachith Pathirana captured 4 wickets to rattle SL Ports as Colts CC managed to record an easy 9-wicket win at NCC grounds. 

Discarded left-handed opener Kusal Janith smashed 78 runs in 80 balls while his partner Shehan Jayasuriya stroked 64 as Colts chased down SL Port’s score of 145 with ease. Colts lost only 1 wicket in a comprehensive chase. Kusal and Shehan was involved in a 126-run stand for the 1st wicket.

SL Ports – 145 all out in 42.1 overs: Mahela Udawatta 37, Isuru Udana 30, Anuk Fernando 2/17, Sachith Pathirana 4/21, Ishan Jayarathne 2/19.

Moors vs Air Force

Chathuranga De Silva struck five times for Moors SC as they beat Air Force SC by 6 wickets in a one-sided game played at Surrey Village grounds in Maggona. 

Air Force batting first was bundled out for 122 as Chathuranga De Silva and Janaka Gunarathne shared 8 wickets between them while Kosala Kulasekara and Oshada Fernando steered the visiting team to victory with an unbroken 67-run stand for the 5th wicket.

Air Force SC – 122 all out in 38 overs: Yashodha Lanka 37, Thuppahi Nadeera 23, Chathuranga de Silva 5/20, Janaka Gunarathne 3/11.

Moors SC – 126/4 in 31.1 overs: Kosala Kulasekara 34*, Oshada Fernando 31*, Buddika Sandaruwan 2/21, Akila Isanka 2/41. 

 

Ragama vs Army

Nilushan Nonis made a fighting 60 and Malinga Bandara took 4 wickets as Ragama CC outclassed Army SC by 5 wickets at Katunayake. 

Leg-spinner Malinga Bandara captured four valuable Army wickets while Lakshitha Madushan top-scored for the visitors with 33 runs. Chasing 157 runs to win, Nonis anchored the innings with an unbeaten 60 while Sameera De Zoysa played a pivotal role chipping in with 58 runs.

Saracens vs CCC

Lasith Abeyrathne (75) and Hashan Dumindu (51*) were involved in a match-winning partnership as CCC beat Saracens SC by 5 wickets at Moratuwa. 

Both right-handed openers made 114 runs for the first wicket after CCC bowlers restricted Saracens batsmen for 131/9 in their allotted 36 overs. CCC reached the target with nearly 10 overs remaining.
