The Kolkata Knight Riders have signed Sri Lankan speedster Dushmantha Chameera as a replacement for Gus Atkinson for the upcoming Indian Premier League 2024.
Atkinson was bought by the franchise for INR 1 crore at the IPL 2024 auction in December last year. Chameera, who went unsold during the auction, will now join Kolkata Knight Riders franchise for his base price of INR 50 lakh.
The England fast bowler Atkinson was due to play the tournament, but has now withdrawn from it as the England Cricket Board has decided to manage his schedule after a long winter away.

Chameera has played 12 games in the Indian Premier League and managed to pick up nine wickets at an economy rate of 8.73.
The schedule of IPL 2024 is yet to be officially announced, but it is likely to be played from 22nd March to the end of May this year.
