Proteas skipper, Heinrich Klassen smashed a blistering century to rescue South Africa Emerging on day one of their third four day game against the Sri Lanka A Emerging which began in Pallekele today(13).

After being sent in to have a bat first the South Africa Emerging found themselves in a spot of bother at 4/88 when their skipper Klassen walked in to the middle to join Hamza who was looking good during his short stay.

Momentum shifted from there on as Klassen smashed the Sri Lanka A Emerging bowlers all around the park as he went on to make a brilliant 136 which came off just 125 balls and included 19 hits to the rope and 1 over it.

He got good support in the form of Zubayt Hamza who made 53 and also Clyde Fortuin who made exactly 50 which propelled the Proteas to a first innings total of 348 all out.

Left arm chinaman bowler, Lakshan Rangika Sandakan was the most successful bowler for the Sri Lanka A emerging with four wickets while right arm leggie Jeffrey Vandersay captured three.
