Dharmaraja College, Kandy registered a comfortable win over Kingswood College, Kandy to clinch their 36th Limited Overs Encounter played today (18th April) at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium.
Dharmaraja College skipper Pulindu Perera won the toss and opted to bat first, but they couldn’t get off to a good start as they lost 3 wickets for 58 runs inside 14 overs.
The middle-order batters Lakvin Abeysinghe and Thariindu Warnakulage rescued Dharmaraja innings with a 124-run partnership for the fourth wicket.

Abeysinghe top scored for Dharmaraja College with a fantastic knock of 67 runs off 77 balls with 8 fours and a six. Warnakulage also hit valuable 50 runs off 83 balls with 5 fours and a six.
Kavindu Gunarathne provided finishing touches with a blistering knock of 48 runs off 37 balls with a four and 4 sixes at a strike rate of 129.73.
Kingswood College got off to a decent start in the run-chase as the opening pair Chanul Kodithuwakku and Aadhel Sheriff added 48 runs for the first wicket.

The skipper Kavija Gamage also made useful contribution – 42 runs off 72 balls, but lack of contributions from the rest of the batting order restricted Kingswood College to just 166 runs.
