Galle Gallants produced a dominant all-round performance to defeat Jaffna Kings by 60 runs in the 10th match of the Lanka Premier League 2026, played today (23rd July) at the Dambulla International Cricket Stadium.
After being put in to bat, the Gallants posted an imposing 193 for 8 in their allotted 20 overs, thanks to crucial contributions from Sahan Arachchige and Chris Lynn.
Playing his first match of LPL 2026 for Galle Gallants, Chris Lynn made an immediate impact, smashing 46 runs off just 22 deliveries with three fours and four sixes.
Following Lynn’s departure, Sahan Arachchige anchored the innings with a composed yet aggressive knock of 63 off 36 balls, striking four boundaries and three sixes to guide the Gallants to a formidable total.

For Jaffna Kings, left-arm seamer Dilshan Madushanka and South African pacer Lizaad Williams were the most successful bowlers, picking up two wickets apiece.
Chasing a challenging target of 194, Jaffna Kings never managed to build any significant partnerships as Galle Gallants’ bowlers kept striking at regular intervals.
All-rounder Dunith Wellalage fought a lone battle for the Kings, registering his maiden T20 half-century. He scored 56 off 39 deliveries, including four fours and four sixes, but lacked support from the other end as wickets continued to tumble.
Eshan Malinga and Tharindu Rathnayake led the Gallants’ bowling attack with superb spells, claiming three wickets each to dismantle the Jaffna batting line-up.
