Isipathana College secured their 4th trophy of 2014 schools rugby season as they beat Kingswood College in the Dialog Carlton 7s Schools Championship Cup finals worked out at Race Course International Rugby Stadium.

Trinity vs Wesley (Bowl semi-final)

1st Dialog Carlton Schools 7s match on day 2 of the Colombo leg was played between Trinity College vs Wesley College. Trinity comprehensively won the 1st bowl semi-final by 36-07 points. 1st try was scored by Charith Nanayakkara followed by two tries from Sanushka Abeywickrama. Wesley scored their only try through Sulaim Masheen as Trinity led the 1st half 17-07. Trinity completely dominated the 2nd half as Sachintha Dissanayake, Isuru Rangala and Anuka Boyagoda touched down for the Lions

Royal vs C.W.W Kannangara (Bowl semi-final)

Winger Sachin Gamage scored 4 tries as Royal easily booked their place in the bowl finals beating the C.W.W Kannangara outfit bby 27-05 points. Speedster Sachin Gamage completed his hat-trick in the 1st half it self as Royal led 20-00 at half time with another try coming from Ovin Askey. Sachin scored his 4th and final try at the start of the 2nd half and Kannangara boys finally got points through their Captain Madawa Sathsara.

Isipathana vs Science (Cup semi-final)

The much anticipated Cup semi-finals commenced with the Green Machines of Isipathana College registering a close 29-21 win over the boys from Science College. 1st try of the match was scored by Asitha Punchihewa while Rehan Silva extended the lead with another classic try. Supun Dilshan reduced the deficit for Science College but Chamodh Fernando scored another try for Isipathana at the stroke of the half-time whistle as the scores read 19-7.

After the lemons, Sajith Roshan scored two elegant converted tries for Science College as they took over the lead. Kushan Indunil’s individual brillant try brought Pathana boys back into the lead and Chamodh Fernando sealed off the game with his final and 2nd try.

St. Joseph’s vs Kingswood (Cup semi-final)

Kingswood booked their place in the Cup finals beating the gallant Josephians by 12-05 points.

Ravinath Udagalahitiyawa scored the opening try for Kingswood as it was the only points in the 1st half as both teams defended in a structral manner. After the half-time break, St. Joseph’s came back strongly through their center Vimukthi Rahula as they leveled the scores. Match winning try for Kingswood came through their reliable skipper Reeza Rafaideen.

Wesley vs C.W.W Kannangara (Shield final)

Wesley College found winning momentum in their final game beating C.W.W Kannangara Vidyalaya by 14-05 in the Shield final. Kannangara opened scoring as their impressive Captain Madawa Sathsara touched down early on in the first half but Wesley came back with power as Imesh Chathuranga and Awantha Lee scored tries for the winners.

Royal vs Trinity (Bowl final)

Trinity College powered their way to the Bowl championship beating their arch-rivals Royal College by 24-10 points. Speedster Sachin Gamaage opened the scoring for Royal while Trinity hit-back to level the scores through their Captain and play maker Isuru Rangala. Andrew Sachin scored the 2nd try for Royal but Sachintha Dissanayake and Saranga Gunathilake scored 3 tries among them to win the game with ease.

Science vs St. Joseph’s (Plate final)

Science College survived a stunning 2nd half rally by St. Joseph’s College as the Plate Championship was won by the boys from Mount Lavinia beating Blue & White Josephians by 19-10 points.

Science dominated first half through excellent tries by Thanusha Maduranga and Udayanga Perera as Scientists led 14-00 at half time. After the lemons, Udayanga Perera stretched the lead with his 2nd try. Josephians scored two consolation tries through Vimkthi Rahula and Dulith Fernando in the final minutes but failed to secure a win.

Isipathana vs Kingswood (Cup final)

Isipathana College comprehensively beat Kingswood College by 15-00 in the Cup finals.Kushan Indunil broke through the Science defense in the first half to score only points as Isipathana took the lead as scores read 5-0 after the 1st half. Nippy wing three-quarter Dilan Gallage powered his way over the try line in the 2nd half and Kushan Indunil sprinted for 70 meters to score his 2nd try in the latter stages as Isipathana won the game easily.
