The Amateur Rowing Association of Sri Lanka (ARASL) together with the Sri Lanka Schools Rowing Association (SRA) are ready to host the 7th Consecutive Inter-Schools Regatta, along with the inaugural Novice & Intermediate Rowing Championship 2018.

The waters of the Diyawannawa Rowing Center will be busy from the 29th of August till the 2nd of September, as the 7th Schools Rowing Championship is set to take place. 17 Schools will compete against each other from the 31st August till 2nd September.

Making things more interesting this year, the ARASL have joined hands with the SRA to organize the Inaugural Novices & Intermediate Championship 2018 – a regatta requested by many. Hence, the inclusion of this regatta to the rowing calendar was decided after the 33rd National Rowing Championship which concluded earlier this April Dimuth Gunawardena, the Secretary of the ARASL stated in a communique.

The Novices & Intermediate Rowing Championship is scheduled to begin on the 29th of August and will be carried out simultaneously along with the Schools Rowing Championship from the 31st of this month onwards.

The ARASL and SRA stated that the Regatta will implement international standards, which is why a 2km course is set for the School rowers at the Diyawannawa Rowing Centre.  And as both Regattas are expected to be highly competitive, the organizers and the rowing fraternity invites everybody to witness a wonderful event.
