The Informatics Group of companies which has been a pioneer in Sri Lanka’s Information Communication Technology sector will be hosting the Informatics Basketball Playoffs on Saturday, March 2 at the Henry Pedris grounds, Colombo 5.
The Informatics Basketball Playoffs which will include the participation of several prominent private higher education institutes is part of the Informatics Sports Fiesta.
The teams that will be participating in the Informatics Basketball Playoffs are ACBT, Achievers, ANC, APIIT, BCAS, CINEC, Mercury, ICBT City Campus, IIT, Wisdom, Royal Institute and SLIIT.
The tournament will be played based on each team being categorized in four different groups and the teams with the most points qualifying for the quarter finals, semi-finals and the finals.
Three women’s teams representing APIIT, Achievers and SLIIT will also be playing in the tournament in a separate women’s category.
The tournament will be played in a carnival atmosphere combined with musical entertainment and exhilarating sportsmanship as several teams battle their way to become the victor of the Informatics Basketball Playoffs.
The Informatics Sports Fiesta which includes sports such as Rugby, Basketball, Cricket, Badminton and Table Tennis is part of the Informatics Group’s overall efforts in promoting sports amongst higher education institutes.
Following the recent successful conclusion of the Informatics Rugby Sevens in January, the Informatics Sports Fiesta has received much commendation and is expected to have a large crowd gathering.
The Informatics Sports Fiesta is a precursor to the 30th anniversary celebration of the Informatics group.
