Sri Lanka registered a convincing win over Ireland in their second game of the ICC Men’s U19 World Cup 2026, played today (19th January) at Windhoek, to continue their unbeaten run in the tournament.
Having won the toss, Sri Lanka elected to bat first and posted a competitive total of 267 for 5 in 50 overs. Skipper Vimath Dinsara led from the front, top-scoring with a brilliant 95 off 102 balls, including 6 fours and a six.
The middle order also played crucial roles as Chamika Heenatigala chipped in with 51 runs and Kavija Gamage added 49, ensuring Sri Lanka finished with a strong total on the board.

In reply, Ireland struggled against disciplined Sri Lankan bowling, eventually being bowled out for just 161 runs. Dulnith Sigera emerged as the standout bowler, claiming 4 wickets for 19 runs, while Rasith Nimsara supported brilliantly with 3 wickets, restricting the Irish batting line-up effectively.
With this comprehensive win, Sri Lanka not only secured their second consecutive victory but also claimed the top spot in Group A.
