HNB, Seylan Bank & CDB Finance dominate first round

The Group round robin stage of the Assetline Insurance Brokers (Pvt) Ltd (a subsidiary of David Pieris Group of Companies), sponsored inaugural MCA T10 Cricket Tournament 2024 got off to start last week-end, 27^th & 28^th April at four venues, namely MCA,  De Mazanod College Kandana, Dharmapala Vidyalaya, Pannipitiya & BRC.

Hatton National Bank, Seylan Bank and CDB Finance dominated the proceedings in the first round of the tournament held last weekends.

All three teams managed to maintain an unbeaten run winning three games each.

Seylan Bank beat Ansell Textiles by 10 wickets;

Ansell Textiles – 68/0 (10), Seylan Bank – 69/0 (3.3)

Peoples Leasing Co. beat Ansell Textiles by 09 wickets;

Ansell Tex. – 64/6 (10), PLC – 67/1 (5.4)

Seylan Bank beat DPGC by 04 wickets:

DPGC – 92/6 (10), Seylan Bank – 93/6 (9.3)

The match between PLC & DPGC was abandoned due to rain.

Recovery Room beat Hilton Colombo Residencies by 09 wickets;

HCR – 48 (9.5), Recovery Room – 49/1 (5)

LOLC beat Softlogic Life by 09 wickets;

Softlogic Life – 54/7 (10); LOLC – 55/1 (3.5)

LOLC beat Hilton Colombo Residencies by 10 wickets;

HCR – 50/9 (10), LOLC – 52/0 (3.2)

The match between Softlogic Life and Recovery Room was abandoned, due to rain.

Hilton Colombo Residencies vs Softlogic Life match was not played due to wet ground conditions.

Recovery Room vs LOLC match ended in a “Tie”; each team scored 97 for 5 in 10 overs.

HNB beat Sitreck Group by 08 wickets on the DLS Method;

The tournament will be continued, this weekend with the knock-out Quarter Finals at De Mazanod College, Kandana on Saturday 04^th May & the Semi Finals and the Final on 05^th May at the MCA Grounds.
