Having won the toss, Dhananjaya De Silva chose to bat first but couldn’t impress with the bat as they were stuttering at 147 for 6 in 28.1 overs before the heavens opened up at R. Premadasa Stadium.

The right-hander Wanindu Hasaranga was the top scorer for Team Dhananjaya as he made an unbeaten 68 runs off 59 balls. The right-arm fast-medium bowler Lahiru Madushanka bowled a terrific spell with the ball picking up 3 wickets for 9 runs in 4 overs.

Due to the persistent rain at Colombo, the match was revised for a 30-over game. As a result, Team Dasun was set a target of 165 runs in 30 overs.

Though the target seems easy on paper, Team Dasun struggled with the bat from ball one as speedster Lahiru Kumara ripped through the batting lineup taking 4 scalps for 12 runs. The middle-order batsman Ashen Bandara stroked 40 runs off 46 balls while hard-hitting all-rounder Lahiru Madushanka made 36 runs off 41 balls.
