Gurukula College registered an innings win over Sri Dharmaloka College to clinch the 35th Battle of Kelaniya played at P. Sara Oval Grounds, Colombo.
After been put into bat first, Gurukula College posted 288 runs with the skipper Thathsara Eshan starring with a brilliant century.
Eshan scored 103 runs off 186 balls with 14 fours while the opening batter Poorna Kalhara also contributing with vital knock of 57 runs.
Sathindu Prabodha was the pick of the bowlers for Sri Dharmaloka College as he grabbed 5 wickets for 100 runs.
In reply, Sri Dharmaloka College displayed a poor batting effort as they were bundled out for just 85 runs. Tharusha Kodikara and Poorna Kalhara ripped through their batting lineup, sharing 9 wickets between them.
After been asked to follow-on, Sri Dharmaloka College once again faltered with the bat to be bowled out for just 120 runs.
Kalhara stood out with the ball once more, claiming 7 wickets for 38 runs. With this 7-wicket haul, Kalhara’s match tally stood as 11 wickets for 56 runs.
