Game heading towards tame draw after Sri Lanka A Emerging take slender lead

Former Sri Lanka under 19 skipper Angelo Jayasinghe’s knock of 81 was the highlight of day three of the second four day game between the Sri Lanka A Emerging and the South African Emerging which was continued at the Rangiri Dambulla International stadium today(8).

The Sri Lanka A emerging resuming from their overnight score of 201/4 went on to make 388 securing a 13 run first lead. Right handed middle order batsman Angelo Jayasinghe made a valuable 81 runs for the Lankans before being the last man out. Moreki and Bosch shared three wickets each for the proteas while Linde picked up two wickets.

The South African Emerging got off to a flying start in their second innings with  openers AK Markram and DJ White putting on 61 for the first wicket before left arm spinner Amila Aponso trapped DJ White in front for 26.  Amila also picked up the other wicket to fall in the second innings taking his match tally to six wickets. For South Africa Emerging Markram went on to make an unbeaten 64 as the proteas closed on 110/2 with a lead of 97 going into the final day of the game.
